A new shadow rises...
April brings us plenty of chocolate from the Easter bunny, but for Star Wars: Legion fans, it is the promise of preorders for the Shadow Collective Starter Set and other Mercenary units.
The starter set is similar to a core set from the Galactic Civil War or Clone Wars eras that many of you will have made your first Legion purchase, but with some important differences.
This starter set will not contain any dice, range or movement tools or battle cards
Confusingly, the starter set contains not 2, not 1 but ... no actual factions. We are used to the core sets containing starter forces for 2 factions. We shall be writing another post on the differences between factions, mercenaries, affiliations and battle forces!
The starter set comes with a greater variety of models than we are used to. Gone are the days of 1 commander, 2 identical corps units and 1 support vehicle. We know that this starter set will come with at least 1 Commander, 1 Operative, 2 Corps and 1 Special forces....and there is likely more than that.
The introduction of the Shadow Collective battle force and Mercenaries brings about a whole new consideration when it comes to list building. At this stage, I am unsure how the addition of the mercenary units will effect list building for the 4 factions currently in the game and I will be exploring this as well as the Shadow Collective, Mercenaries and Battle forces in more details in future posts.
As well as the aforementioned releases we have more information on the new Upgrade Card Pack 2. This will contain various upgrades from many of the Clone Wars expansions that have released over the last year or so. It will also contain some updated Bounty Hunter Cards, giving other factions access to the villainous Boba, Bossk and Bane as well as a few other surprises...
I will be providing information as we receive it in future posts. In the mean time, continue to seek 'Fortune and Power' on the table.
